4 teenagers lead Joy futsal to inaugural win in the first ever Semi-Pro Futsal Game in Minnesota.

4 homegrown goats, Mika Folstad, Phil Caputo, Bennett Kouame, and goalkeeper Liam Donnegan led the way as Joy Futsal shocked 2021 National Champs Futsal Factory of Detroit Mi., 7-1. Folstad had 2 goals and an assist, Kouame added a goal and an assist, Caputo, along with Dimitri Nair, Marco Corona Duran and Brian Kallman each added a goal.

Donnegan, a Junior at Como High School, was impressive all night as he shutout Futsal Factory until late in the game when the team from Detroit went to five attackers.

"Liam was outstanding all night cutting off angles and getting big, said assistant coach Lioul Minas. "We were very happy with the play, everyone contributed to the win" I thought Phil Caputo and Aiden Cavanaugh were key as organizing fixos" (defenders). "They set the tempo to push the team forward all game."

Folstad scored in the second minute as Joy's high pressure turned over the ball to Kouame who fed it to Folstad for the first goal in MN futsal history.

The goats never looked back as the pressure stayed high and the Joy defense worked hard in front of Donnegan.

Joy sits currently on top of the NFPL. Their next home Match is vs Grand Rapids Ole, Jan 8. 7pm, at JOTP Woodbury
